On Saturday, we travelled to the big city of Burkettsville (ha) for a wedding of one of John's school friends. To say these two are Adventurers may be an understatement! They met on the Appalachian trail whe he was completing a three month hike, and she a one month. Lucas spent 3 months in Antarctica early this year working on the National Science Foundation's base there. They were engaged while backpacking in New Zealand-while eating avacados! These two are so adorable together, it almost makes you sick! Both brimming with a love of life, they had a very heartfelt and simplistic ceremony. My favorite part of the wedding was when- well, I have 2. First, her maid of honor was her grandma. how sweet. Secondly, after they were joined at the front of the church, the first thing they did was face each other and hold hands while everyone, including them, sang How Great Thou Art to a guitar. To watch Alex sing with all of her heart while sort of dancing to the music was one of those magical moments you get caught up in. It was like nothing else in the world mattered, just the two of them getting married. A very sweet day.
O Lord my God,
When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
