Bird update

Since I know that you are dying to hear an update on the baby birds, (: I'll tell you that they grew up and moved out.
The other day I looked in the front yard and noticed a bird hopping around the yard. We checked the nest and they were gone! The little birds were out practicing their flying. How cute. We had to protect them from the cat (the great grey hunter as John calls her) and the road. I know what the expression "empty nest" comes from. We miss having the birds on our porch!
A few days later, one little guy came back to visit! (and leave us a gift-ha)

Just another Tuesday

For those of you who don't know..John has Tuesdays off. So we sort of have two Saturdays in our life!
This Tuesday, Gwyneth had her checkup (4 months- a little late!)
Waiting for the dreaded shots. She did wonderful, and barely cried, poor thing. She charmed everyone in the office! She just smiled and talked to everyone. The girl who checked us in said "She is soooooo cute" about 35 times by the time she got us settled into the room to wait for the doctor. It was funny. Then Gwyneth was flirting with Dr. Ringwald. He said she is doing wonderful! I would say that she is definitely a people person.
She weighed 16 lbs 12 oz and was 25 3/4" long-I think
90th percentile in weight and 75th in height. At least she is on the chart now (:
Later in the day we had to go to Minster so John and Haydn could get fitted for Whit's wedding. We always try to make a fun "trip" out of these kinds of errands. John's uncle Brent told us about this ice cream place that had 24 flavors of Soft serve. Of course, we had to check it out! It was delicious. The boys had Tutti Fruiti and Blueberry. I thought the Tutti Fruiti tasted exactly like Gas Station Bathroom. (the air freshner of course)Yuck. I had Pistachio nut (delish) and John had coffee (of course). Check out Hutch's "bib". It's Gwyneth's burp rag. Hey-ya' gotta use what you've got. Sorry Hutch.
Then we found the park. Wow, it was really nice. They had three play gyms for little ones. Most small towns around here have one.

Carolyn's Wedding Shower

John's cousin Whit (Bryon) is getting married Aug.2, and his fiance had her Wedding Shower last Sunday at CJ Highmarks in Celina. It was a very sweet and emotional shower, and Gwyneth and I had a delightful time meeting Carolyn's family and friends and celebrating such an exciting and joyous time in Carolyn's life!
The cake was absolutely gorgeous. And it tasted just as delicious as it looked. It was chocolate and vanilla with raspberry. yummy!
A picture with Carolyn
On a side note: Carolyn just got a teaching job for next school year. Congrats and good luck!

Our girls after the shower

I love Alyssa in this picture. She is looking at Gwyneth. So adorable.

Willshire Days Parade

Haydn got to ride in another parade! This one was totally impromptu.
Granny Sharon took the boys home with her after Haydn's tball game last Saturday to play with his cousins and we'd come over later for the parade. When we got there, Haydn wasn't around because he was going to ride with Papa Brent and Tyler to escort the grand Marshall through the parade! How fun.
Oh, and did I tell you we have Royalty in our family?! Andrea was crowned Little Miss Willshire. She makes an adorable princess if you ask me! Congratulations Andrea!
I said "smile"!! to Brent and this is what I got.
Then I told him he looked like a bouncer!
