Elliott's Birthday Party

We had Elliott's birthday party this weekend- I can't believe that he is NINE!!  I was on a cruise when he was born (he was early)- and I didn't even know it until we got back into the airport!!!  I remember sitting in the Atlanta airport (pre-cell phones!!) calling home and mom telling me.  I remember not being able to WAIT to get home to see him!

He has grown up to be quite the little farm boy! (:  He helped my mom make his birthday cake-which was very suiting!  There were even little cupcake farm animals!!  So clever!

Elliott!!!!
Elliott, right after turning 5! Sooooo cute!!
(Kind of wierd that the picture is taken in almost EXACTLY the same spot in the yard at my parents' house!  That was totally not planned!!)

We love you, Elliott!  We're so glad we've got you!!

Fun Easter Things We Did Today

We had a great day at home today-just hanging out and preparing for Easter.

We colored Easter Eggs:
(we tried to do most of them when Gwyneth was napping)

Gwyneth woke up and joined in on the fun a little

We made little Chick cupcakes

and Nest Cupcakes

and even a nest cake when we got tired of making cupcakes!

We made an Easter egg tree for our front porch.  I've been wanting to do this for a long time, and pretty much gave up on it.  John surprised me by pretty much taking on this project today!  He's so nice!

This tree reminds me of Grandma Lloyd

We watched/are watching Basketball, and now I'm going to go sit out the Easter baskets for the morning!
Happy Easter!!
I'm so thankful that Jesus Died on the Cross for ME!!

Oblivious, Ecstatic, Skeptical

That's how my kids reacted last night when I told them we were having Cupcakes and Ice Cream for supper!!!
Gwyneth was like, "hmm, whatever!"

and dug in

Hutch thought it was the BEST THING EVER!!!!

And Haydn, well, he's a little more seasoned, so he said that they really looked like cupcakes.  But he knew I had something up my sleeve.  He knows if something seems too good to be true, it probably is!!  He was smelling them, because I told them they couldn't touch them yet!!

We had GRILLED CHEESE for dessert!  Yummy!!

Don't worry!  I wouldn't really feed my kids cupcakes for supper!  Did you think I would?
(well, even if I did some night, I probably wouldn't tell you in my blog!)
It was my version of an April Fool's Joke.
The "cupcakes" were meatloaf "cupcakes" with blue-tinted mashed potato "frosting"
The "ice cream" was blended cooked cauliflower ( I put it in an old cool whip container for added authenticity!)
The "grilled cheese" were toasted pound cake with yellow frosting!
What fun pranks did you pull yesterday?  (or get pulled on you)

A Little Trophy Action for the Little One!

Gwyneth won her first trophy!  Yeah, Gwyneth!!
Our church had its Awana Grand Prix last Saturday, and she won the Cubbies and younger category.

Getting the award

She wasn't sure what to think at first...

Bad Boys

Wouldn't you like to sink your teeth into one of these bad boys?!
You can!  I'm selling them at the Bake Sale tomorrow at Wal Mart in Van Wert 10-4!!
(they are yummy! if I do say so myself)

I Lied!

My guys went to the Monster Truck show last weekend. Remember, I told you I was sending the camera with John? Well, that was a lie, because when I said the camera I meant, my new(er) camera. John insisted on taking the old(er) camera because he can pretty much fit it in his pocket. I was okay with that, but I just wanted to be up front with my vast amounts of readers. (; I wouldn't want to lead you astray!!!!

Now that that is cleared up, John told me when he came home that he wished he would have taken the camera. He couldn't really get any good pictures, and it wouldn't have been that big of a deal.

I nearly wept with joy at these words!!

On to the pictures!

This is taken with the camera right before they left.
Notice the ear protection.  John opted for the more discreet version (:

These were taken with the camera. (never mind the wrong date!!!???)  The boys loved getting to go to the Pit Party!  Woooohooo!!
They even got to ride in a Monster Truck!

They got autographs!
A great night!  When they got home, Hutch had already zonked out, and Haydn staggered straight to bed!!
